After marrying fellow professional wrestler Phil Brooks, better known as CM Punk, on June 13, 2014, she became known as AJ Mendez Brooks. This is her author name for her 2017 memoir, Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules, which became a New York Times best seller. Her current professional name is AJ Mendez.
