The clip purportedly showed a nude Karmita using her hands to cover her modesty. It also shows her having sex.
Despite the grainy footage, many believed the woman in the video was Karmita.
The video was quickly shared on various social media platforms and even adult websites.
Netizens also criticised and trolled Karmita for the alleged leak.
She has since turned off the comments section for her Instagram posts, suggesting that she is aware that people will make comments about the alleged sextape.
Karmita has reportedly broken her silence on the scandal, insisting that the video had been doctored and that the woman in the video is not her.
She also claimed that the video was created using artificial intelligence while also urging her followers to refrain from propagating false information or sharing malicious content.
The 19-year-old has also filed a case against those who uploaded the video.
Punjabi YouTuber Karan Dutta came out in support of Karmita and also called the video fake.
